LONDON -- The official eighth chapter of the Harry Potter series -- Harry Potter and the Cursed Child-- starts previewing this week, and J.K. Rowling has taken to social media to issue a spoiler-based plea to fans.
On Monday morning, the author shared a YouTube video of herself addressing fans, asking them to keep the play's secrets so as not to spoil things for others.
Given that back in the day even British intelligence agencies were helping keep the books from being leaked, she's probably right to be worried.

Rowling confirms 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' will be a tear-jerkerBetween the previews, the script's international release on July 31 and the churning spoiler-machine that is the Internet, it's hard to imagine that fans with 2017 tickets will make it to show night without someone giving something away.

Let's face the grim facts, Harry Potter fans: unless you're one of the people lucky enough to have a preview ticket this week, the odds of making it to the show spoiler-free are about as good as the odds of Hedwig making a surprise comeback.
We'd all love it to happen, but it won't.
