This year, cities across the U.S. have seen their economies transformed by "Swiftonomics" or "Taylornomics" as Taylor Swift has traveled the country on her Eras Tour. Cincinnati's tourism office, for example, told the Wall Street Journalthat consumer spending related to Swift’s tour was around $48 million (the pop star played two shows in the city this past summer).
So it's no surprise that Swift's newest public endeavor — her rumored relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — has spurred a flurry of financial activity, too. As Mashable reported, Swifties are in their football era, and that change is going to be reflected in their fashion.
SEE ALSO: Thanks to Travis Kelce, Swifties enter their football eraAfter Swift's first Chiefs game visit on Sep. 24, official e-commerce sales for Kelce's jersey went up by 400 percent. And shopping app LTK told Mashable that since Swift and Kelce were spotted out together, searches for Swift have been up 146 percent, while searches for "Football Outfit" went up by 242 percent in the past week alone. A representative for the app told Mashable that searches for Kansas City Chiefs sweaters have also witnessed a significant uptick (Swift wore a vintage one at the game on Oct. 22).
Like all things Swift, these numbers become even more interesting with context. LTK told Mashable that searches for Taylor Swift are currently up 527 percent since the beginning of the year, and peaked at over 1,000 percent in March and April when her tour began.
Turns out Taylor's doing just fine on her own with or without her reported new beau.
