DIY videos have saved our lives on more than one occasion, and sure, some of the hacks that surface are really cool and useful. But, some content creators have taken the trend a little toofar.
We're talking about those videos where someone decides to DIY or "hack" something that no one really wants or needs, and ends up making the process 19 billion steps long.
One of the biggest problems facing the world today is the utter lack of rings made out of jeans. Thanks to YouTuber jedrek29t, that is no longer an issue. Unfortunately, unless you have an array of power tools, you're just out of luck. Even if you weredying for a ring made out of jeans, there must be an easier way to do it than this.
A trend we've seen a lot of recently is concrete and cement DIY decor projects for household items. Concrete is not a fun medium to work with, it's a long messy process so we're not sure why every cutesy DIY channel on YouTube has hopped on board with this trend. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OK, maybe in a pinch this could be useful. Perhaps you have to cary several items a long distance and you managed to forget a bag. However, we can't think of too many instances, or even one, where a pants backpack is the best or only option. Maybe we just haven't been on enough impromptu hikes.
We'd really love to know the thought process behind this video. Never have we thought, or even come close to the thought, of making underwear for a phone. It doesn't really protect the phone, or enhance its aesthetic appearance, in fact it really just weirds us out.
Some clothing hacks are really helpful, this is certainly not one of them. Any hack that involves stuffing diapers down your pants seems just the slightest bit excessive.
And then there's this video about how to form a stick of chalk into a linked chain. Yes, you read that correctly. Although this process is certainly interesting to watch, and absolutely demonstrates a great amount of skill, it still leaves you wondering who thought that anyone would ever need this in their lives. We're just happy they edited chalk scraping sound out of this one.
This is just a whole new level of wow. Sadly, this was not the only tutorial on hot glue gun flip flops. Plastic flip flops can certainly be uncomfortable on a hot day, so even the thought of this texture on bare feet is shudder-inducing.
This craft is really very clever as a DIY idea for hiding anything small. However, watching this woman rip the head off of a cute little teddy bear is something we won't forget anytime soon. So this one makes the list purely because it's permanently etched into our minds.
There have been countless times where we have wanted to cook just one sausage, but didn't want to fire up the whole grill. For those of you who enjoy sticking to the recommended serving size, there are many tutorials on how to make a grill out of a soda can, and we mean somany tutorials.
If you have a rat problem, we don't recommend using a material that rats can chew through, such as cardboard. Sure they can chew through a lot more than that, but we wouldn't be leaving any rodent problems in the hands of some flimsy cardboard.
If you know anyone who has this casually sitting around their home during any time that isn't Halloween, unfriend them immediately. They have disturbing taste in decor.
