The time has come for Ivanka Trump to bid farewell to her clothing and shoe company.
On Tuesday, Page Six reported that the daughter of President Donald Trump will bring an end to her namesake fashion brand "ASAP." Staff have reportedly already been informed of the company shut down and know they’re being laid off.

According to Page Six, an insider said, "It’s just never recovered since she stepped away from the company."
Ivanka launched the brand in 2011, but over the past few years it's had its fair share of criticisms. In 2016, the brand was accused of ripping off a shoe design from Italian luxury footwear brand, Aquazzura.
Then, in April 2017, it was reported that Ivanka's clothing line was selling so poorly that it was being relabelled and sold at Stein Mart, a chain of discount department stores. This was discovered just days before learning the brand uses a factory in China with serious labour standard violations to produce the clothing line.
Since Donald Trump took office, a lack of love for Ivanka's political stances have also resulted in several boycotts of her brand, so it should come as no shock that not everyone is distraught over the news.
In fact, many people are doing just fine and making some memes.

In a statement, Ivanka Trump explained her decision to shut down the company, saying, "I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington..."

Welp. At least you still have a seat at the White House table, Ivanka.
